How does one go about writing a multi-purpose introduction about one's self to a potentially completely different set of audiences?

I sure don't know. But I'll give it a crack.

Hello, I'm twister. I've been twister ever since I was 13-ish and my good friend John said: "you know what would be a good nickname for you? Twister". I'm twenty-two, now. I guess you could officially say it stuck. My girlfriend's about the only person outside of my family who doesn't call me twister - and she calls me "cubs", as in "bearcubs". In front of people no less!

My life didn't get particularly notable until I hit double-figures. Before that I was just into wrestling and pogs, as best as I can remember. Somewhere between ten and twelve I completely fell in love with music, though, and then things became much more interesting.

My music collection pretty much started with David Bowie - his 1974 album Diamond Dogs remains my favourite of all time - and from there I pretty much spent my teenage years absorbing as much and as varied music as I could. There were no real barriers on my interest, I wanted to hear everything - even if I was sure I would hate it. This attitude has led to an album collection that inspires envy and ridicule in even measure - sometimes even at the same time ("hey looks, it's Bob Dylan's '80s section!").

When I was 16-ish I started posting on a Bowie message board by the name of Teenage Wildlife. It didn't take me too long to rise to that always weird position of 21st century internet celebrity. For anyone wanting a taste of celebrity themselves, it's easy really - join a messageboard, and be funny. The expectations put on celebrities are hopelessly high, however, which is why you'll notice I'm being completely and totally unfunny these days. The last thing I need is a return to those days when I was winning popularity polls left right and centre.

In 2001 I fell in love with a girl. I was seventeen at the time, and she was sixteen. I lived in England and she lived in Canada. And now we're a couple of twenty-somethings who own a house together. This is a source of great joy in my life, as you might well imagine. She too has a journal, which can be found at [info]acrylic_after. It's a lot better than mine is.

In 2002 I started this journal, and mostly used it to chronicle which albums I was adding to my collection as and when I did. Um. It's been an exciting ride? Well, the old stuff isn't as good as I remember it - downright ropey in fact, really - and I've jumped the shark since then, so on the whole I don't know why you're reading still...

No, I'm just kidding. I'm a strangely enigmatic character and you'll find me fascinating, I'm sure. I'm a pretty nice person too, should you ever want to comment or anything nutty like that.

A couple of lists to go out on, then.
